MEET OUR DIRECTORS

Greg Allen is an accomplished entrepreneur and real estate developer with more than 25 years of experience in development, construction, and strategic project execution. Over the course of his career, he has led and completed projects exceeding $250 million in value, building a reputation for turning vision into meaningful, lasting results.

Greg’s connection to the Mori Legacy Foundation is deeply personal and grounded in a meaningful relationship with Eugene “Gene” Mori. During Gene’s lifetime, Greg had the privilege of working alongside him on real estate investments and development opportunities. Through that partnership, he came to understand not only Gene’s sharp business instincts, but the intensity, focus, and discipline that defined him as a driven individual with a remarkable mind for business.

Gene’s legacy extends far beyond real estate. He was deeply passionate about the world of horse racing and at one time owned three prominent racetracks, including the world-renowned Hialeah Park in Florida, Garden State Park in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Tanforan Racetrack in California. His affinity for horses and the racing industry reflected both his entrepreneurial vision and his willingness to operate on a grand stage. Greg often recalls that Gene never watched a race casually—he studied every detail, from track conditions to bloodlines, always searching for the edge others missed. It was that same relentless mindset that defined how he approached business and life.

One of the most meaningful moments in Greg’s relationship with Gene came when Gene personally asked him to serve on the Mori Legacy Foundation and, ultimately, to carry forward its mission as his successor as President. It was not a formal request, but a moment grounded in trust, respect, and shared values—one that left a lasting impression on Greg and continues to guide his leadership of the Foundation today.

The Mori Legacy Foundation stands as a tribute to the principles that defined Gene’s life—drive, resilience, and an unrelenting pursuit of opportunity. For Greg, this work is more than stewardship; it is both a responsibility and an honor. He is committed to ensuring that Gene’s legacy lives on not only in memory, but through action—creating opportunities, supporting meaningful causes, and making a lasting impact in the lives of others.

Throughout his career, Greg has remained deeply engaged in community and philanthropic efforts, serving for over two decades as a trustee and director for nonprofit and charitable organizations. His extensive experience working with local, county, state, and federal agencies enables him to navigate complex challenges while advancing initiatives that serve both economic and community interests.

Fluent in Spanish and grounded in both business leadership and service, Greg brings a unique blend of experience, perspective, and purpose to the Mori Legacy Foundation. His work reflects a belief that true legacy is built through action—by carrying forward the lessons of the past to create opportunity for the future.

Born and raised in Toms River, NJ. Graduated from Toms River HS North, participating in Varsity Ice Hockey and Golf. Attended Florida Southern College and Florida Atlantic University. Graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice. Worked for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department as an officer in the patrol division, a detective in Street-Level and Major Narcotics Units; and a sergeant in Patrol, Marine Unit, (obtaining a USCG Captain

Masters License), Narcotics Division, Violent Crimes Division, and developed and supervised the Broward County State Attorney and FBI Miami Human Trafficking Task Force. As a Task Force Officer with the FBI in the 1990’s, Sgt. Pallen was responsible for investigating and working as an under-cover infiltrating local, interstate and international drug smuggling organizations. Most recently, working with the Broward County SAO and FBI investigating, participating as an undercover and supervising Human Sex Trafficking operations recovering numerous adult and juvenile victims of Human Sex Trafficking, and the successful federal prosecution of their offenders. Andy also owns and operates a family equine business which caters to training horses and instructing students, horse camps and homeschool instruction. Instruction ranges from beginners to competitive horse jumping, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage and Western. Andy is also the CEO of Hero Horses, an equine based not for profit 501.c.3 for students with disabilities, financial hardships and students of First

Responder Families.

Born in the Bronx, NY, my cousin and I came to Florida to attend the University of

Miami, and while at college, our parents moved to Florida and we became

“Floridians”. Graduated from UM in 1968 with a major in marketing & a minor in finance. Dun & Bradstreet, Miami, FL 1969 to 1975: last position there was senior business analyst. While employed at D&B, attended the New York Institute of

Technology at Nova University and completed a major in accounting.

1976 to 1980: Spear, Sheldon, Safer & Co., CPA’s, Miami, FL, last position Audit

Supervisor. Passed the C.P.A. exam and was licensed by the Florida State Board of

Accountancy in June, 1977.

1980-1983: Sheldon, Ribotski, Levine, & Co., CPA’s Miami, FL (a “spin-off” from

my former employer), last position Audit & Accounting Manager.

1983-2002: Louis John Claps, C.P.A., P.A. Pembroke Pines, FL, sole practitioner

providing audit management, accounting, tax & advisory services primarily to

business clients.

2002-Present: John Jennings joined me and a new firm, Louis John Claps, C.P.A. &

Associate, P.A. was formed. We provide accounting, tax, advisory services,

including estate planning to both business and individual clients.
